Site-specific installation for Volvo Studio

To mark Art & Design Week 2026, Mandalaki studio, in collaboration with Viasaterna, is transforming Volvo Studio into a space dedicated to the most essential and intangible of elements: air. The project takes the form of a dynamic sculpture in which light becomes matter in motion, active both by day and by night, marking a new evolution in the research initiated with the Halo series.

Designed specifically for the spaces of Volvo Studio Milano, the installation translates purity, dynamism and breath into an immersive and carefully calibrated experience. Light traverses the air, making its density perceptible and creating distinct chromatic fields, establishing a direct dialogue with the observer’s perception. The journey unfolds from the exhibition spaces to the offices through images and projections that, over time, deepen the collective’s exploration of the relationship between air, light and space.
